Results of Postal Vote July 2024
As Guild activities take a break for the summer period, please note this important update on the outcome of the postal vote on behalf of ICA National President Mary D’Arcy.
The count on the Ballot on the motion to wind up the unincorporated structure (provided that our application to register the Company as a charity is approved) took place on Wednesday 3rd July.
The new Procedures Committee, with the ICA National President in attendance, were charged with overseeing the count.
The results of the postal vote are as follows:
- 289 Guilds of a total of 354 Guilds voted i.e., 81.3%
- 265 Guilds voted in favour of the wind up of the obsolete structure in the event of the application being successful, i.e., 91.7%.
- 17 Guilds voted against.
- 7 Guilds abstained.
The charity trustees now have a clear legal mandate to wind up the obsolete structure in event of our application being successful, ensuring that the restructure process can continue and be completed in a timely manner.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all Guilds for taking part in the vote.
